bioteXcel consulting, a new and fresh face in the world of biotech consulting

29 October 2011 10:57

bioteXcel consulting has recently been launched in the UK by Elisabetta Fineschi. The company boasts a global footprint by having a team of professionals spanning China, India, Europe, US and Canada. With this structure and with the multidisciplinary skill sets of the entire team, bioteXcel is primed to cause waves in the world of consulting services.

It was the brainchild of Elisabetta Fineschi who originally decided to start up a consulting career when she left the Nordson group as an employee in 2009 and continued with some consulting projects. bioteXcel was put on hold till the summer of 2011 as Elisabetta continued to work freelance on projects in the life science sector. It was in the summer of 2011 when Elisabetta decided to put her consulting experience on a formal level and start up the bioteXcel consulting business. The operations have been boosted recently by the joining of Ed Quazi, a biotech executive and entrepreneur who is now responsible for forming strategic alliances with partner biotech and pharma companies.

Elisabetta has big ideas for bioteXcel and she has started partnering discussions with leading consulting partners around the world. bioteXcel has now partner consultants in China, India, Europe US and Canada and is currently in discussions with one of London’s leading biotech recruiters (more news to come on this in the coming weeks!). To add to this, two hard hitting non-executive directors have joined the board; Dr Alexander Kuklin and Professor Nikolai Zhelev and we are told that a 3rd senior Pharma director is on the way to the board.
Dr Kuklin, the first board member is the managing editor of the Journal of Technological Innovations in Life Sciences and senior level executive in Pharma as well as a dedicated advocate of personalized medicine; indeed he has started a new venture to take the message of personalized medicine to all corners with Personalized Medicine TV.
Professor Zhelev is a famous face in the UK and a distinguished academic and personality, being the head of cancer systems biology at the University of Abertay and honorary consul general for Bulgaria in Scotland.

So, what does bioteXcel offer? Today the services consist of a broad spectrum of marketing and business development services as well as interim management and technical support services. The skill set of the partners covers many different fields to include biologics manufacturing, product development, project management, learning courses, conferences to more business related services such as branding and the use of social media to increase market visibility of bioteXcel clients.
